Dr. Adam Bruene strives to always put his patients first by providing them with as much time, consultation, education, and treatment necessary to truly achieve positive results. It has been his experience that even chronic and very challenging conditions can be traced back to a root cause. The techniques he has mastered help his patients to avoid those insults, improve or remove the underlying dysfunction, and allow the body to heal. His patients range from infants to elderly, from pregnant mothers to professional mixed martial arts fighters. Regardless of the patient, or your condition, he takes your health personally and will do all in his power for you to achieve the results that you are looking for. Dr. Bruene suffered from low back pain since adolescence. While in highschool, he sought help from medical doctors who ran many scans and tests, but no cause of pain could be determined, and the only treatment offered was prescription muscle relaxers. Because he was originally skeptical of the effectiveness chiropractic care, it wasn’t until much later that Dr. Bruene finally sought the care of a chiropractor. As it turned out, Dr. Bruene’s back pain stemmed from the simplest of explanations and was easily treated by chiropractic manipulation and rehabilitative exercise. As a result of this experience, Dr. Bruene realized that he wanted to dedicate his life to helping others the way he had been helped.
Dr. Bruene takes a “whole health” approach to the way he practices. This means that he strives to find the underlying cause of your pain or dysfunction, rather than simply treating the symptoms. His treatments (including acupuncture, rehabilitative exercise, nutrition, and home care) focus on the entire person to achieve long-lasting improved health. In order to keep up to date, Dr. Bruene constantly studies the most current literature and modifies his treatments to assure that they are supported by modern, clinical research. This is referred to as evidence-based practice. Dr. Bruene also willingly works with your other healthcare providers, when necessary, to insure that you get the best all around care as his patient.
Dr. Adam Bruene earned his Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) degree at the National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, IL. While in school he served as the president of both the Motion Palpation Club and the Sports Rehabilitation Club. This gave him the opportunity to work closely with lead instructors to improve his own skills, while also teaching other students to better their manual therapy skills, and their understanding of biomechanics and injury. While in school, he also completed many postgraduate continuing education seminars including Motion Palpation, Kinesiotaping certification course, manual therapy seminars, chiropractic manipulative therapy, and the study of human gait (how we walk).
While attending NUHS, Dr. Bruene completed a rotation the Salvation Army clinic on Halsted Street, and completed his clinical internship at the NUHS Whole Health Clinic on Maxwell Street in Chicago. In addition to his chiropractic education, Dr. Bruene also earned his acupuncture certification before graduation and also became a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine.
Both during Dr. Bruene’s schooling, and since gradation, he has been an active member of the community, offering services at area races, and local events. He has also given presentations to first-year University of Illinois at Chicago medical students to help them better understand the chiropractic profession and its role in modern healthcare. Dr. Bruene continues to lecture on a wide range of health topics, and is a member of the American Chiropractic Association, and the Motion Palpation Institute.
